State Executive is formed for Bosco Youth Kerala

A state executive team is elected for the Don Bosco Youth Centers in Kerala. The animator’s and leaders formation program held on 27th November 2021 at Vaduthala elected the state executive for the Bosco Youth – Don Bosco Youth Center wing. Bosco Youth is a synonym for the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) which is an internationally recognised youth body. It is multi-religious in nature. The movement is animated by the Salesians of Don Bosco. In Kerala, there are 23 Don Bosco Youth Centers attached to different Salesian Communities. Every youth Center was functioning as an independent body recently. However, efforts were made to form them as a youth movement to contribute to the social, spiritual and political development of the young people Kerala, to form them as honest citizens and good human beings.
Among the representatives gathered from the Youth Centers, a team of 10 were selected to the State Executive. Antony S S (Santi) (DBYC Vaduthala) is elected as the president. Mr. Libin Lawrence (DBYC Alapuzha) is the secretary. Ms. Catherine C (DBYC Thope) is nominated to be SYM Representative. Christymol MA (DBYC Alapuzha) – Arts Wing, Vinson Benny (DBYC Mannuthy Bhavan)- Sports Wing, Nikhil Raphel (DBYC Aluva)- Cultural Wing, Robin Francis (DBYC Irrinjalakuda) – Media Wing, Prashanth J Francis (DBYC Thope) – Social Service Wing, Shaheed VA (DBYC Ollukkara) – Finance Wing, Denny Mathew Akshay (DBYC Puthuppally) – Spiritual Wing are elected to be the wing secretaries.

Fr Shalbin Kalanchery sdb, the vice-provincial, Salesian Province of Bangalore Inaugurated the meeting. Fr Shibu Davis sdb, Rector Don Bosco Vaduthala, Fr Benny Neeliyara sdb, youth commission head, Fr Manu Michael, Youth Director Kerala addressed the meeting. Mr Henry Austin, animated the session. 18 directors and 35 youth representatives participated in the meeting.
