IYDC has been present for over 37 years. We make the best for all our youth.

Integrated Youth Development Centre (IYDC) is a Salesian training centre for the youth, youth animators and all those who are involved with the youth. It provides programmes, services and facilities for the total development of the young and training for educators and animators in youth ministry.

This was the realization of a dream to cater to the ever-growing demand for youth animation programmes for parishes, educational institutions and formation centres in Kerala. Our youth animation team reaches out to all categories of the youth through carefully designed and skillfully executed programmes leading to the integral growth and development of young minds.

DON BOSCO

Saint John Bosco, popularly known as Don Bosco, was born at Becchi in Piedmont, Italy on August 16, 1815. At a very young age, he felt inspired to work with the poor and abandoned boys, educating them with total dedication and personal involvement in their lives and problems. He envisaged a unique educational philosophy, the Preventive System of education, founded on Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness. He dedicated his whole life to the young as a caring father, with the sole purpose of making them ‘good Christians and honest citizens’. His legacy is today carried on by the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDBs).

SALESIANS OF DON BOSCO

We, the Salesians of Don Bosco, formally known as the Society of St. Francis of Sales, is recognized in the Church as a clerical religious institute of pontifical right. We are a Religious Congregation of men devoted to apostolic and missionary activities inspired by Christian charity dedicated mostly to the service of young people, in particular, to those who are poor and disadvantaged. Our history began when little Johnny Bosco had a very strange dream at the age of 9. However, today, the society has over 14,000 members working in 132 countries and it caters to over 9 million young people the world over.

SALESIAN PROVINCE

The Province of Bangalore dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus came into existence on 19th March, 1979. The Province comprises of two states- Kerala and a three fourth of Karnataka. At present, there are 351 members who reach out to the poorest of the poor through more than 50 centres. We become messengers of hope and channels of God’s love to thousands of poor people through our Mission Centres, Parishes, Trade Schools, Child Rehabilitation Centres, Youth Centres, Social Work Centres and our Shelters for the Children on the Street.
